Clinical Safety Notice

Get urgent care now if you have:

  • Severe pelvic or abdominal pain.
  • Very heavy bleeding, fainting, or dizziness.
  • Fever with pelvic pain, foul discharge, or persistent vomiting.
  • Pregnancy with pain, bleeding, or suspected ectopic pregnancy.
  • New neurologic symptoms, severe headache, eye pain, or vision changes.

If STI exposure may have happened:

  • Seek HIV PEP immediately; it should be started within 72 hours.
  • Arrange testing based on clinician advice and local guidelines.
  • Avoid unprotected sex until reviewed and treated where needed.

Medication and treatment safety

Do not self-prescribe antibiotics or stop prescribed treatment early. Always follow clinician instructions and complete follow-up testing when advised.

If symptoms are severe or rapidly worsening, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department.
